Event photography can be filled with much excitement and provide many unique opportunities. It’s also a horrible time for an error code to pop up on the back of your camera to find out the last 4-5 photos you took are now gone! This has been the past month for our host, Brian McGuckin.

Introduction

Event photography can be filled with much excitement and provide many unique opportunities. It’s also a horrible time for an error code to pop up on the back of your camera to find out the last 4-5 photos you took are now gone! This has been the past month for our host, Brian McGuckin.

Topic: Brian shared about what it was like shooting multiple events leading up to and including the Indy 500 race recently in Indianapolis. He explains why he enjoys shooting events and some of the unique situations he’s been fortunate enough to experience. While at an event, he only had a few seconds to capture a large group photo – which happened to be the most important shoot of the night. All had gone perfectly… until now.

What do you do when an error code pops up on your camera? What about when it happens a second time with a different memory card? Jeff and Brent process with Brian on what he should do with his camera. With always following proper memory card protocol, the best thing may be to send the camera into Canon. Brent is a member of the Canon Professional Services (CPS) and briefly shares about it’s benefits.

Brent and Jeff discuss the new Canon 70-200 2.8 III coming out and whether they think it’s worth it for the price and compared to similar 70-200 lenses. What’s going to happen with these lenses when Canon releases their version of the mirrorless body?
